Doors explained

Understand which door type works best for your home, how they operate, and how to customize them for security, comfort, and style.

More than an entrance

Why the right door changes daily life

Doors control light, air, temperature and who gets in. Each type works differently and excels in a different situation — choosing well is the first step to security, comfort and lasting style.

Right door for your space

A balcony door opens differently from a patio door. Understanding the difference means you pick one that actually fits how you live.

Security that lasts

Steel doors and multi-point locks protect what matters most. We explain how each layer of security works and what to look for.

Comfort inside matters

Panel thickness, glazing type and filling material all affect heat loss, noise and how long your door lasts. Simple choices make a real difference.

Style stays strong

Premium finishes resist scratches and weather. RAL colours and wood grains are real options that hold up over decades.

Panel fillings

Types of fillings

Our doors use a range of infill options — the panel inside the leaf sets the balance of durability, thermal efficiency and elegance. Three configurations for the AS 75 and AS 75P systems.

Visible frame

Fastest assembly

Installed in an AS 75 leaf exactly like a glazing unit, so the leaf profile stays visible from both the outside and the inside. The 44 mm panel gives the fastest, easiest assembly and a classic look.

Build your door

Four steps to your perfect door

You start with the core material, then layer in glazing, hardware and finishes. Each decision builds on the last.

Select your core material

Aluminium, wood, composite, fibreglass or steel — each brings different strengths in durability, energy efficiency and design flexibility, matched to your climate and style.

Choose glazing or panels

Custom glazing — energy-saving, soundproof or decorative — lets light in while keeping privacy; solid panels give a classic or contemporary look.

Add security & hardware

Multi-point locking, reinforced hinges, concealed fittings and keyless access — the hardware that combines protection with sleek operation.

Finish & personalise

Any RAL colour, wood-grain or textured coatings, plus transoms and sidelights — the details that make a striking, cohesive entrance.

Your questions

Doors — frequently asked

What actually makes doors different?

Doors fall into two groups: how they open (sliding, swinging, tilting, folding) and where they go (entries, balconies, patios). Match the opening method to your lifestyle — children, wheelchair access, large furniture moving through, or ventilation without a full opening.

Swinging or sliding — which should I choose?

Swinging doors (single and French) are simple, secure and work anywhere, but need floor space to open. Sliding and folding doors — Balcony, Lift & Slide, Tilt & Slide and Fold & Slide — save space and open wide, ideal for tight balconies or connecting indoors and out.

What's the difference between 44 mm and 75 mm infill?

Our basic infill is 44 mm; the premium option is 75 mm double-sided aluminium. The extra material seals better against temperature and noise and looks more refined — like the difference between a single blanket and a thick duvet.

How secure are steel entry doors?

Steel is the strongest entry material — it resists forced entry and never warps or rusts. Paired with multi-point locks that engage at 5–8 points across the frame edge, it makes breaking in nearly impossible.

How do I personalise a door?

Four steps: choose the core material, decide on glazing or solid panels, add hardware and security, then finish with any RAL colour, wood-grain or textured coating — plus transoms and sidelights for a cohesive entrance.
